The Blue Eagles Boys Soccer team played host Monday night to the Monroe Central Seminoles. This would be the second meeting between these two teams for the season. Within minutes the Blue Eagles had several shots on goal, but none would fall. The Eagles kept fighting and maintained control of the ball until eventually Hunter Oats would score the first goal of the contest. Shortly after he would score his second, but not last goal, of the night to put the Eagles up by two. Oats would be the leading scorer with a “haul” (4 points) and two assists. The Blue eagles were working like a well-oiled machine and the Seminoles didn’t have the tools to shut them down. Jordan Davis, the Blue Eagles CDM, would assert his dominance in the midfield, accumulating many steals and taking possession of the ball to help feed the offense, as well as racking up two goals of his own and two assists. The Blue Eagles found themselves up by six at the half. The second half was much the same as the Eagles would continue to control throughout the rest of the game. The final score would see the Blue Eagles sitting atop a shut out with a score of 11-0. Fernando Hernandez would end up with his second hat-trick of the season and an assist. Hayden Thorne and Parker Werkau would end with one a piece and Herberth Hernandez would end with three assists. The Blue Eagles are sitting at a record of 3-1 and head to Caldwell on Thursday September 8th at 5:30.

Blue Eagles get win over John Marshall

On Saturday September 3rd the Magnolia Boys Soccer team hosted the John Marshall Monarchs. In true John Marshall fashion, the Monarchs would be on the attack first scoring the first goal of the contest. The Blue Eagles kept their heads up and continued to battle coming back to tie the game up right before the half, with the score 1-1. As the teams took the field for the second half, Magnolia looking like the fresher team, it would ultimately be the Monarchs scoring another goal to take the lead at 2-1. But like Rocky Balboa, the Blue Eagles would not be held down for long. The Eagles defense would step up and not allow the Monarchs to score another goal in the contest. The Eagles Offense and midfield would now take over. With their skills on point, the eagles would score seven unanswered goals in the second half to ultimately take home the victory with a final score of 8-2. Hunter Oats would score his first hat-trick of the season with Fernando Hernandez scoring two and one assist, Herberth Hernandez scoring two with four assists and Jordan Davis scoring two. But the most impressive of the game would be the Blue Eagles goalie, Jordan Gilbert. With his speed and aggressiveness, Gilbert would attack everything that would come into his territory. Sacrificing everything to ensure the Blue Eagles would hang on to take home the victory.
